Tragedy Strikes Riverside: Pregnant Teenager Killed in Hit-and-Run, Newborn in Critical Condition
A devastating hit-and-run incident in Riverside has claimed the life of a pregnant teenager, leaving her newborn in critical condition. Authorities reported the tragic incident on Thursday, revealing that a 19-year-old male, Isaac Blackhorse Garcia, has been apprehended in connection with the case.
The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Gregg Place. According to the Riverside Police Department, Blackhorse Garcia was dropping off the victim’s teenage sister, with whom he had a sexual relationship, when family members approached his vehicle. In an attempt to flee, Blackhorse Garcia accelerated, striking the pregnant woman with his car.
The victim sustained critical injuries and passed away at the hospital. Medical personnel successfully delivered her baby, who remains in critical condition. The victim’s name and exact age have not been disclosed.
Blackhorse Garcia was later apprehended in Moreno Valley and now faces charges of murder, hit-and-run resulting in death, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He is being held without bail.
