5-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shot in Americus, Georgia; Two Others Injured
Americus, GA – A devastating shooting incident on Saturday night has claimed the life of a 5-year-old girl, Peyton Brielle Roberts, and left two others injured, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
The Americus Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the 600 block of Eastview Circle at approximately 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Victims Rushed to Hospital
Peyton Brielle Roberts was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. A 19-year-old male was also taken to the hospital before being transferred to another facility, where he remains in critical condition. A third victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation Underway
GBI agents and Americus Police investigators are actively conducting interviews and working to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
