Central Virginia Man Killed in I-95 Crash in Northern Virginia
A 57-year-old man from central Virginia died Tuesday afternoon following a collision on Interstate 95 in northern Virginia, according to state police. Vernon S. Lee II of Chester was fatally injured when his vehicle, stopped on the right shoulder of the southbound express lanes near the Triangle interchange, was struck by a pickup truck shortly after 2:30 p.m.
The impact of the crash caused Lee’s car to hit a guardrail and then re-enter the travel lanes, facing oncoming traffic. Lee, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Shannon S. Lee, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. State police confirmed she was also wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the pickup truck, 43-year-old Jeremy S. Kubela of Fredericksburg, was uninjured in the crash. He has been charged with reckless driving by state police.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances of the collision.
