Fatal Crash on Kilpatrick Turnpike Claims Life of Blanchard Man
A devastating late-night collision on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Canadian County has resulted in the tragic loss of life of a 43-year-old Blanchard man. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 11:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Kilpatrick Turnpike, near its intersection with Interstate 40.
The victim, identified as Damion Barks, was driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck that collided with a semi-trailer. Despite rescue efforts, Barks was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-trailer, whose identity has not been released, escaped the crash without injuries.
The OHP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident. Preliminary reports indicate that the Ford F-250 was completely totaled, while the semi-trailer sustained significant damage to its rear. Authorities are working to determine the precise cause of the crash,
including potential contributing factors such as speed, impaired driving, or other issues.
