Pedestrian Killed in Tucson Accident, Investigation Ongoing
A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on the night of February 5 in Tucson, claiming the life of 57-year-old Dale Anthony Lauzon. According to the Tucson Police Department (TPD), the incident took place on the 800 block of East Aviation Highway.
Emergency responders declared Lauzon dead at the scene after he was struck by a blue 2018 Kia Soul while in a crouched position on the westbound lanes of East Aviation Highway. Investigators noted that the area is equipped with fencing to prevent pedestrian access, and streetlights were functioning properly at the time of the accident.
A DUI Unit officer responded to the scene to assess whether impairment played a role in the crash. After conducting an examination, the officer determined that the driver of the Kia Soul was not impaired.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
