Tragedy Strikes Chesapeake: Apparent Murder-Suicide Claims Lives of Mother and Three Children
A devastating incident has shaken the community of Chesapeake, Virginia, where a woman and her three children were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide. The Chesapeake Police Department is investigating the tragic case.
On the morning of the incident, authorities responded to a welfare check in the 3000 block of Welcome Road, just before 7 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an armed woman, identified as 31-year-old Cymone King, inside the residence. Despite attempts to negotiate, the situation escalated, prompting the SWAT team to make an emergency entry.
Tragically, officers found the bodies of King’s three children, as well as King herself, who had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to investigators, King had fatally shot her children before taking her own life.
A friend of King’s reported that she had received a disturbing phone call from King earlier that morning, stating that she had killed the children and intended to take her own life following a recent breakup with her girlfriend.
The community is reeling from the shock of this tragic event. Nearby resident Shana Hicks recalled hearing intense screaming from the home early that morning, but had assumed it was a typical morning commotion.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details at this time.
