Alexander Sheppard Identified as Victim in Fatal Statesville Laundromat Crash and Fire
Authorities have identified the individual who tragically lost his life in a car accident at a Statesville laundromat on Thursday morning. City officials confirmed that the victim was 30-year-old Alexander Sheppard, a resident of Statesville.
The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on March 6 at C&H Laundry, located on Shelton Avenue near Old Charlotte Road. Sheppard was pronounced dead at the scene, while fortunately, no injuries were reported among those inside the laundromat.
Video footage from a nearby business, Iredell Auto Repair, captured first responders arriving as thick smoke filled the air. Shelton Road was temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to contain the situation and advised the public to avoid the area.
