Fatal Hit-and-Run on Interstate 5 Claims Life of 31-Year-Old Pedestrian
A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Interstate 5 in Castaic on Tuesday night, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Gabriel DeJesus. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, DeJesus was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the northbound lanes of I-5.
CHP officers responded to the scene at 8:10 p.m. and classified the incident as a fatal hit-and-run. Preliminary reports indicate that DeJesus sustained traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect vehicle, described as a Toyota Corolla (model years 2014-2019), fled the scene traveling north on I-5. As of Thursday, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
