Alabama Man Surrenders to Cobb County Police in Connection with Fatal Shooting
A 53-year-old man from Alabama has turned himself in to authorities in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at a shopping center in Cobb County, Georgia.
According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Windy Hill Road and Cobb Parkway on Wednesday afternoon. Upon arrival, they found 21-year-old Jabril Blount of Roswell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Blount was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as Eric Townsend, voluntarily surrendered to the Smyrna Police Department shortly after the incident. He was transferred to Cobb County authorities and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released any details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. It is also unclear whether Townsend and Blount knew each other prior to the incident.
