Galax Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Carroll County
A fatal accident occurred in Carroll County on February 4, claiming the life of a 79-year-old woman from Galax. According to the Virginia State Police (VSP), the single-vehicle crash happened on Pipers Gap Road at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
The VSP reported that Annie R. Felts was driving a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder eastbound on Pipers Gap Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, striking a tree and then a fence. The impact caused the Pathfinder to roll over multiple times, ejecting Felts from the vehicle.

Sadly, Felts was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and the VSP is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
