Buck Butters of Utah has passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and adventure. Standing tall at 6’4”, Buck was not only physically imposing, but his heart matched his stature—big, generous, and full of love.
When Buck entered a room, his presence was impossible to ignore. He had an energy that drew people in, a mix of confidence, warmth, and a natural charisma that made him unforgettable.

Buck had a gift for excelling in everything he pursued. He was a master at operating heavy equipment, a skill that came to him effortlessly. Whether it was handling massive D9 dozers, large crushing equipment, or anything in between, he had an innate ability to understand machines.
Not only could he operate them, but he could also fix and troubleshoot any problem. Buck was a true MacGyver—if something was broken, he would find a way to make it work. His talent extended to his CDL driving skills, where no load was too big for him to handle.
He took immense pride in his work and was currently devoted to his latest venture, Bedrock Sand & Gravel in Willard, UT. His dedication and hard work made a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.
Beyond his professional life, Buck had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He found solace and joy at Hideout Ranch, where he spent countless hours building roads, installing water systems, hunting, and riding dirt bikes and side-by-sides.
Buck had a natural ability for anything he set his mind to, and his passion for outdoor activities was evident in the way he tackled every challenge with enthusiasm. Snowmobiling was another one of his talents—he was an excellent rider, navigating the snow-covered mountains with ease and precision.
No matter what he was doing, Buck did it well and with an undeniable passion. Fifteen years ago, Buck met the love of his life, Lauren Cassity. Their love story was one of adventure, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, excitement, and cherished memories. The greatest joy of Buck’s life was their daughter, Reese. She was his pride and joy, his greatest accomplishment. At just three years old, Reese is incredibly smart and full of personality.
She inherited her father’s love for machinery and can already name every piece of equipment, from trackhoes and water trucks to dozers and dump trucks. Her absolute favorite is the Snow Cat, a testament to the bond she shared with her dad and their shared love for adventure.
Buck was more than just a man with exceptional skills and talents—he was a devoted father, a loving partner, a loyal friend, and a man with a heart as vast as the landscapes he worked on.
He embraced life with open arms, always eager to ask, “Where is our next adventure? Where are we going?” His zest for life was contagious, and he made every moment count.
His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. While his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, especially in the beautiful daughter he adored.
