Sixth Fatality Confirmed in Hawaii New Year’s Eve Fireworks Explosion
A sixth person has died as a result of the devastating New Year’s Eve fireworks explosion in Hawaii, officials announced on Wednesday.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, a 30-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital shortly before 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
Her identity has not been released.
The explosion, which occurred during a gathering, injured over 20 people and was caused by illegal fireworks, authorities said. Initially, three people were killed in the blast, including 61-year-old Carmelita Benigno, 58-year-old Nelie Ibarra, and 23-year-old Jennifer Van. A 3-year-old boy,
Cassius Ramos-Benigno, died on January 6, and a 29-year-old man, Kevin Vallesteros, died on January 28 while receiving treatment in Arizona.
Six survivors were transported to Arizona for specialized burn treatment, and four patients remain hospitalized at Straub Benioff Medical Center in Honolulu.
The Honolulu Police Department has arrested 10 individuals in connection with the incident, with additional arrests expected. Authorities have recovered approximately 500 pounds of unused illegal fireworks from the scene.
