Orlando Pastor’s Wife Dies After Violent Home Invasion Assault
Lucy Pat Curl, the wife of an Orlando pastor, passed away on Wednesday morning after being removed from life support, her family confirmed. The 85-year-old had been in a medically induced coma following a brutal assault during a home invasion last week, according to the Orlando Police Department.
In a statement released on Wednesday, February 5, the Curl family announced her death: “On Tuesday, Lucy Pat was removed from life support. She ascended to Heaven early this morning. We find solace in the fact that she is free from pain. The nature of her passing is both shocking and sudden, far from what we anticipated or would have chosen. However, as our Lord has granted us forgiveness, we are called to extend that forgiveness to one another.”

Lucy Pat Curl was the wife of Pastor William “Bill” Curl of the First Baptist Church of Orlando, as confirmed by a church representative to FOX 35 News.
The incident occurred on January 31, when police responded to a residence on Caribbean Court, near S John Young Parkway, after Pastor Curl discovered his wife severely injured. According to authorities, Lucy Pat Curl was attacked by Ronald Davis, who allegedly forced his way into their home.
Davis reportedly knocked on the door, claiming to be a community service officer. When Lucy asked for identification, he showed his wallet before pushing his way inside and assaulting her. Detectives stated that Davis struck her on the head with a crystal candy jar, leaving her unconscious. He then stole several pieces of jewelry and fled the scene, leaving her bleeding on the floor.
Lucy Pat Curl was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition but did not recover from her injuries. Ronald Davis has been arrested in connection with the attack.
