Fatal Crash in Town of Clay Claims Life of SUV Driver
Town of Clay, NY – A devastating early morning crash on Saturday has resulted in the death of a man after his SUV collided with a Town of Clay Highway Department snow plow truck.
According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 2:39 a.m. on February 9, near the intersection of Waterhouse Road and Morgan Road.
The SUV driver, traveling north on Morgan Road, rear-ended the snow plow truck, causing the SUV to catch fire with the driver still inside. Deputies arrived to find the SUV fully engulfed in flames.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance personnel.
Investigation Ongoing
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the accident and has not released the name of the deceased pending family notifications.
