Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident in Gardena Claims Life of 76-Year-Old Woman
A tragic accident occurred in Gardena on Sunday, resulting in the loss of life of 76-year-old Patricia Ware. The incident took place at approximately 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and 135th Street, near Rowley Park.

The second driver, 29-year-old Marian James, a Los Angeles resident, fled the scene but was later apprehended by the Los Angeles Police Department outside her residence. James was arrested and booked at the Gardena Police Department.
Preliminary investigations suggest that James disregarded a red light at 135th Street while traveling southbound on Van Ness, causing the collision with Ware’s eastbound vehicle.
