Fatal Motorcycle Accident Occurs in Fairfield, Claims Life of 63-Year-Old Rider
A tragic accident occurred in Fairfield on Wednesday night, resulting in the loss of life of a 63-year-old motorcyclist. According to police reports, the incident took place at approximately 8:05 p.m. at the intersection of West Texas Street and First Street.
The motorcyclist, identified as Robert McPherson, was traveling west on West Texas Street when a vehicle heading east attempted to make a left turn into the Circle K driveway, directly into McPherson’s path. The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 68-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities determined that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident. The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was uninjured, and there were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The accident led to the closure of West Texas Street for several hours overnight, but the road has since been reopened. The incident is currently under investigation by the Fairfield Police Department.
