Sharon Lee Underwood, 81, passed away March 1, 2025 at Danbury Senior Living Center, surrounded by family after complications from Alzheimer’s.
Sharon was a lifelong resident of Tallmadge. She was a little league and PTA mom, member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed spending time with family and snowbirding in Clearwater, FL. She spent years attending The Chapel in Akron but had been attending FallsCreek Community Church for the past several years with her son and daughter in law. Through all of these events and activities it was evident that her family meant the world to her.
Raising her three boys and spending time with their families brought her so much joy. Sharon spent hours hosting extended family at the house, making sure each person felt welcomed and cared for. Many nights you could find her playing cards or games with neighbors, family, and friends while on weekends she was with her mom, Myrtle, selling their floral arrangements at craft shows. She loved her time traveling with Dick and visiting her sister and new friends in Florida. Above all else, she loved Jesus and everyone who knew her could see how important her faith was to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Myrtle Sines. Sharon is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard “Dick”; her sons, Mike (Shawn) Underwood, Bill (Kim) Underwood and John (Stephanie) Underwood; sister, Linda Tubaugh; grandchildren Ozzy, Rick (Esmeralda), Austin (Peyton), Jacob (Brianna), Bryn and Reagan; and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, at FallsCreek Community Church, 149 Northmoreland Ave., Munroe Falls, OH 44262. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Dr. Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FallsCreek Community Church and mailed to 149 Northmoreland Ave., Munroe Falls, OH 44262.
