Des Moines Police Investigate Potential Murder-Suicide in Lower Beaver Neighborhood
A shooting incident in the Lower Beaver neighborhood on Monday has claimed the lives of two individuals, with the Des Moines Police Department investigating the case as a potential murder-suicide.
The victims have been identified as 15-year-old Tee Reh and 24-year-old Ne Reh, according to a news release issued by the police department on Thursday. Although they were friends, the two were not related, police confirmed.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including who fired the shots and the motive behind the incident, remain unclear. Both individuals sustained at least one gunshot wound and were found in the basement of a residence on Lynner Drive.
A GoFundMe page has been established to support the family of Tee Reh, who was fatally shot just one day before his 16th birthday. His mother, Say Reh, described the loss as a “senseless act of violence” and expressed the devastating impact on their family.
The investigation is ongoing, with the police department working to determine the specifics of the shooting.
